Raised in Poland by Wladyslaw Noll and introduced by Jim Fisk to England in 1980. A very good strong growing free flowering clematis. Early in the season, the flowers are 15cm (6in) across, being smaller but more freely produced in late summer. Generally, it has six broadly overlapping mid-mauve to deep blue tepals, with a hint of rose-pink at their base. A full round flower with yellow anthers. A good plant with climbing roses. Suitable as a cut flower. RHS Award of Garden Merit
